Hi all,
I was just wondering where certain slang words come from. I think most of it is used by the younger generation, like cool and awesome,farout. I was hardly ever one to use lingo, but since having been on the net, so many teens and 20 somethings use the word cool so much, I find myself using it without even thinking about it. I first heard the work yo on accessible chat, and I thought, yo? now where did that word come from? I think I heard it on the andy griffith show once, and it was used as an answer to a question, ie, yes, but I've also heard it used as a greeting too, or when someone comes in to a chat room, so I'm wondering, where do some of these words come from?
